Summertime is finally here

Good morning y’all. Find some sunscreen and go swimming this weekend.
I’m a big believer in the power of a 3 day weekend. It’s just enough time to take a short trip and hangout with the people that make you laugh the most. Single day holidays are tough to pull off, like when July 4th lands on a Wednesday. And longer holidays can get so logistics oriented it can be stressful to execute. So thank Uncle Sam that they give the perfect number of days, 3, for this Memorial Day kickoff to summer.
How do we know it’s the perfect number of days? Glad you asked.
To help kickoff summer, enjoy this Low Country Boil recipe with some friends this weekend. Gathering a group around the table and enjoying each other’s company is what cast iron cooking is all about. I’ll venture to say no single meal does that better than just laying out shrimp, potatoes, andouille sausage, and corn on top of newspaper when the thermometer creeps over 90 degrees.
Welcome back summertime, we’ve missed you. Let’s get supper on the table.
Commandment #8 – Use your eyes, ears, and nose to determine when food is cooked. It’s a feel as much as a specific timer.
As always, thanks so much for subscribing to this page, it is truly appreciated. I hope it brings a little joy to your inbox and kitchen table each week.
Y’all be good. – Hendo
