So tomorrow I’m takin’ me fishin’
Hang a sign on the door of my life
Tell the world that I’ve gone missin’
And I won’t be back for a whileEric Church, “Livin’ Part of Life”
Good morning y’all. Lightweight clothing, sunscreen, fruit popsicles and cold drinks this time of year.
Welcome to mid-July, officially the dog days of summer. Did you know that the modern day Sun-Belt is dependent upon the invention of air conditioning? Population growth in southern states exploded from 1950 to 2000 as Northeasterners relocated. This was all made possible simply by the fact you could now stay cool year round in your own home, and have an HVAC specialist on speed dial ready to solve all your problems for a little less than a mortgage payment.
But you didn’t come here for history, so you know a simple way to beat the heat this summer? At the end of the day, instead of sweating over the grill outside, stay inside and make a Smashburger on the stovetop. A delicious way to combat heat exhaustion.

Enjoy one of my favorite recipes this summer. Let’s get supper on the table.
Commandment #14 – 3 Steps of Cleaning- 1. Rinse with water and wipe dry with paper towels. 2. Use a plastic scraper for stuck on items. This should work 90% of the time. 3.Bring a saltwater mixture to a boil.
