See you and me have a better time than most can dream
Have it better than the best, so can we pull on through
Whatever tears at us, whatever holds us down
And if nothing can be done, we’ll make the best of what’s aroundDave Matthews Band, “The Best of What’s Around”
Good morning y’all. Does bug spray even work anymore against the mosquitos?
“Certified SC Grown” is a tagline that identifies local farmer’s markets up and down the state highways of South Carolina. I remember spending many days on the road in the summertime passing by these outposts and occasionally stopping in for a brown bag of boiled peanuts. Still counts as a vegetable, right?

This time of year when it’s hotter than hot, find a local grower to shop with in your area. Stroll down some open air aisles in the morning and have your pick of the taste of summer. When you find yourself inspired, take a look at our Sweet Potato and Honey Salad recipe. Then stimulate your local economy with 100% local ingredients to you.
Enjoy these last few weeks of summer before the unofficial start of fall on Labor Day coming up. After all, “A little bit of summer is what the whole year’s all about”. Put some honey on anything you can this weekend.
Let’s get supper on the table.
Commandment #19 – Once a year, re-season it by putting a coat of vegetable oil everywhere and baking it at 450 for an hour.
