Good morning y’all – just 8 days away until pigskin is in the air.
The last week of summer is here, and with it ends the season of vacation and Aloe Vera. Sure, summer technically ends in September, but spiritually it runs from Memorial Day to Labor Day. After this week, school is back in session, the weather will begin to turn, and the trees will change colors at the end of the month.

Personally, I’ve enjoyed the summer of 2025 tremendously as it has been full of extended family, work milestones, travel near and far, baseball games and cooking on the cast iron skillet. I do look forward to the fall recipes, but also am excited for when the tomatoes are back in season next June and BLTs.
This week toast the last days of heat on the way towards blue jeans and lightweight jackets with a Sweet Potato and Honey Salad. Eat this meal outside in the afternoon and let the sunshine burn you one more time to get that base tan all the way to winter.
So long summertime, it’s been a good one. Let’s get supper on the table.
Commandment #20 – Bring it to Thanksgiving.
