So wrap me up in sweet forgiveness
Take my wrongs and make ’em right
Take my scars and take my troubles
Spread my ashes in the wind
‘Cause momma loves me, I’m still born again

NEEDTOBREATHE & The Red Clay Strays, Momma Loves Me

Good morning y’all, enjoy this Saturday edition of Cast Iron Soul.

If you’re a consistent follower of Cast Iron Soul, you know you are able to expect this newsletter conveniently delivered to your inbox every Friday morning for some weekend cooking inspiration. Welp, sometimes we all find ourselves a day late or a dollar short, and as such I’m going to utilize the occasional Saturday to work some overtime and catch back up.

I’ll encourage you to find the time today to cook up some Chicken Tortilla Soup. It has been one of my favorite recipes to make during the cold weather months, and as fall is starting to take hold over the trees it is the perfect amount of heat for the season. Chock full of lean protein, vegetables, and a dash of cayenne pepper, it will warm you up as the weather starts to cool and get you ready for the week ahead.

So happy Saturday everybody, and forgive yourself if you didn’t get everything done on time this week. We all want a little bit more time than what we’re given, after all.

Y’all be good. Let’s get supper on the table.
