Good morning y’all, sometimes a little bit of home is all you need. Enjoy the in-between holiday weeks.
Commandment #2 – Don’t put it in the dishwasher.
🍳Let’s Get Supper on the Table 🍳
Jam·ba·lay·a – one of the most fun words in the English Dictionary. Tastes even better than it sounds. I use the 5QT Iron Dutch Oven to make enough for everybody.

Right now I feel like we are in the quiet before the storm. Two weeks from now airports will be full, highways busy, and we all cram into our childhood bedrooms again for a Thanksgiving season. Don’t get me wrong – I thoroughly enjoy Thanksgiving. It is the cast iron cooking Super Bowl, and a great chance to show some skills while you meet the new boyfriend/girlfriend your sibling brought for the first time.
But still, I enjoy the peace about this particular time in late fall, when the leaves have all shaken down off their branches and before the travel lines queue up. So I’ll be embracing that with a pot of chili and a couple of beers this weekend as I begin to strategize for Turkey Day.

🚨NEW SEGMENT ALERT🚨 – I am enjoying all of the photos I get each week of various cast iron creativity out there. Shoutout to my Uncle Greg this week who discovered a “polished” cast iron skillet and cooked up some late night eggs and bacon. Lookin’ good Uncle G!
Send in your own photo of some cast iron magic from your home this week to be featured.
