Good morning y’all. “On the first day of Christmas, my true love game to me…”

Commandment #23 – Share recipes with friends that they may not find themselves.

Life is full of countdowns, some self imposed and some imposed by outside expectations. Every morning is a countdown to get out the door and on to work, or kids out the door and on to school. We’ve got countdowns to weddings, countdowns to babies being born, and countdowns until the next game ( 15 days from the Pinstripe Bowl!!?). Countdowns are everywhere, from the ball drop on New Year’s Eve to the clock counting down on a workout class.

Collectively, we are all in the big countdown to Christmas day right now. 12 days until Santa slides down the chimney delivering perfectly wrapped boxes under the tree (dropped of by the blue smiley face delivery van a few days prior). Still looking for a gift? Buy someone a skillet this holiday season. And let them start counting down the days until their kitchen table is filled with great food and good times all around.

Cook up both some great food and great memories for you and yours this holiday season. And let the countdown on the 12 days of Christmas begin.

Playoff Push Turkey Chili – This is the time of year when champions are made on the gridiron, otherwise known as The “Playoff Push”. Cook this chili in your Cast Iron Dutch Oven will get ready to be the champion of your house this Christmas season.

Playoff Push Turkey Chili

Give someone (or yourself) the gift of a skillet this holiday season.

  1. Cook fresh, homemade food 🍔
  2. Be a healthy human – create food without the chemicals
  3. Make some new traditions for your folks around the table

Every week, I enjoy all of the photos I get each week of various cast iron creativity out there. Shoutout to subscriber Brayden Yocum who sent in a photo of some homemade rolls he cooked up. Very cool, show him some love in the comments.

Send in your own photo of some cast iron magic from your home this week to be featured.

As always, thanks so much for subscribing to this page, it is truly appreciated. I hope it brings a little joy to your inbox and kitchen table each week.

Y’all be good. – Hendo
