Good morning y’all. Shoutout to the wives for everything they do to bring Christmas cheer.
Commandment #3 – Be adaptable – stovetop, oven, grill, or open flame.
Ho ho ho, everybody ready to flip the calendar over to Christmas week? Santa is doing his final sleigh ride preparations, the delivery drivers are working overtime, and most of us are trudging through the snow between a Target exchange and a big work meeting that had to get scheduled before the New Year, as if the results of that meeting are going to get acted on before the ball drops in Times Square.
As you prepare to bring that Christmas cheer into your home next week, remember to cook yourself and somebody else some good food this week. Maybe some Chicken Tortilla Soup, or some Playoff Push Turkey Chili. After all, as Clark Griswold accurately states in Christmas Vacation, “We’re all in this together” and that means taking care of yourself as well as the gifts.
He also notes “”We’re gonna have the hap-hap-happiest Christmas since Bing Crosby tapped danced with Danny Kaye!” as well as some other choice words. Take a watch, and have a laugh this holiday season folks. Merry Christmas, thanks for reading my newsletter each week. Y’all be good.
