Upsize Down Skillet Pizza — Do yourself a favor and take a chance with this recipe this summer on the grill. A fantastic combination of dough, tomato sauce, and vegetables made whole with an upside down skillet singe.


Summer is one of my favorite times of the year to be a cast iron skillet chef.

Ingredients are all fresh, especially vegetables that are packed full of flavor. Hosting others and creativity reigns as we hang out with friends and neighbors.

Below are a handful of recipes that are Cast Iron Soul summertime approved, ready for the heat.

The main objective for Cast Iron Soul is very simple:

Teach and inspire everyone to make great food, every day, all year round. My belief is that this simple lesson will improve life in homes and neighborhoods across America.

Even when it doesn’t go according to plan, cooking fresh, homemade food brings your community together around a shared experience.

I’ve burned the vegetables, used the wrong flour, and over cooked Thanksgiving dinner.

All good memories now in the rear view mirror, and laughed about with those involved.
