Good morning, y’all.
Any other parents just counting down until kids are back in school?
Commandment #8 — Cooking is not chemistry.
🍳 Let’s Get Supper on the Table

Kale Salad with Chicken — Needing some more green in your life? Health is wealth these days. So make some more money this year by eating some Kale Salad with Chicken.
I’m feeling a little worn out these days.
All for good reasons though. My wife and I welcomed our second child, a son, recently. And we are going through joys of the newness of life, complete with the midnight hours and diaper changes.
Having a little one gives the opportunity to reflect on the family character you’re bringing them in to.
For example, I have friends whose kids learned the football fight song before they could spell.
I know of people who want to make sure their little ones understand their family’s history, and many grown-ups pass down religious beliefs in the early stages to their children.
I’m not saying any one of those is more or less important than the other, but I mean my daughter does know all the cheers at the baseball stadium.

Family traditions can be a powerful thing.
My paternal grandfather was the best home cook I knew, and as a kid we would go to his house and get excited just for “Poppy breakfast”. It was heaping portions of eggs, bacon, biscuits, and the like.
His cooking skills left a mark on my young brain through the year.
Now as the parent of the equation, it’s my job to make the breakfast and pass down the experiences that stuck with me.
Be it baseball or breakfast.
Think about what those traditions would be in your own home. If you can’t decide, pick up a skillet and cook whatever your grandparents made for you growing up.
You might just leave a mark.
Y’all be good.
The Good Stuff
I consume all kinds of media that has what I would term a “good livin” vibe. If you’ve got a podcast or book or song worth sharing, please do.

Here is a book I read recently – “Excellent Advice for Living” by Kevin Kelly.
A couple of my favorite quotes:
“The greatest teacher is called DOING.”
“Anything you say before the word “but” does not count.”
“Fear is fueled by a lack of imagination”
